PBU Fails To Get Back On Track

Box Score

Bryn Mawr, PA
- The Crimson Eagles drop flat to Bryn Mawr College 6-1, never really getting off the ground.

Several mental lapses cost the Crimson Eagles on the day. First-year coach Laura Behnke was not pleased with the focus of her team, and in particular her goalkeeping. "We gave up three soft goals". Not taking anything away from their opponents, she admitted "the score should've been 3-1. They had a strong defense, but giving up soft goals will deflate any team's morale."

Bryn Mawr were able to call on six different players to put the ball in the back of the net, the first coming in the 6th minute. It looked as though PBU had gained some focus and could mount a comeback, but those hopes were dashed when Bryn Mawr put 2 more goals in making it 3-0 going into the interval.

It got worse after the restart. In a ten minute span, starting at the 57th minute, Bryn Mawr found the back of the net 3 more times.

The same ten minute span also saw PBU's junior midfielder Chelsea Troyer prevent a shutout as she scored an unassisted goal at the 60th minute. It was her first goal of the season.

The Crimson Eagles were outshot 21-12 on the day. PBU were able to get 9 of their shots on goal, forcing Bryn Mawr keeper, Rebecca Joseph, into 8 saves. PBU's keepers Naomi Collipp and Alyssa Beltle combined for 8 saves, with the former getting 6 saves. All six goals were scored on Collipp, before she was pulled.

PBU's schedule doesn't get any easier this week, as they take on two of the strongest teams in the CSAC, in Marywood and Cabrini. The match against Marywood takes place in Scranton, Pa on Tuesday, September 20, 2012.
