HOBOKEN, NJ - No shocker here. The men's volleyball squad did what they were supposed to do Friday afternoon, taking down Newbury College in straight sets to advance to the NECVA quarterfinals.
Game scores finished 25-19, 25-21, 25-22. It marks the second time PBU has defeated the Nighthawks this season as the Crimson Eagles took down their counterpart 3-1 in late February.
Drew Dillon posted 34 assists and 10 digs in the win while Ethan Mawhineny added five block assists on the defensive end.
Justin Brubaker added 17 kills and three block assists and Noah Prickett chipped in with nine spikes. Libero Jeff Stauffer put up nine digs.
The Crimson Eagles will get back in gear Saturday afternoon during quarterfinal action against Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the fifth seeded squad in the tournament. The opening serve is slated for 1:00 pm.
