Crimson Eagles Stumble in Regular Season Finale

HUNTINGDON, PA
- The men's volleyball team dropped their regular season finale Friday evening to Juniata College as the Golden Eagles posted a 3-1 win in Huntingdon.

Going up against the fourth ranked squad in the nation - and perhaps the most storied program in all of NCAA III - the seventh ranked Crimson Eagles lost by scores of 25-13, 25-18, 27-29, 25-21.

Juniata - who has six national championships under their belt - clobbered 61 kills through the four sets while boasting a mind-boggling .429 hitting clip for the match.

The Crimson Eagles did their best to keep pace and hit at a blistering .500 percentage during the third frame during a dramatic 29-27 victory. However, the visitors nailed just .024 of their attempts the other three stanzas, betraying themselves with 26 attack errors for the night.

Juniata's front line was impressive as their trees in the middle came up with 11.5 team stuffs, including 21 total block assists during the scuffle. The host group helped overcome 16 service errors by by posting three players with double-digit spikes on the night, led by Chris Vrooman's efficient mark of 21 slams in just 30 attempts.

PBU was limited to a 56 percent sideout clip throughout the evening while Juniata combated with a 70 percent overall mark.

Senior outside hitter Justin Brubaker nailed 22 kills and two aces in the loss while classmate Drew Dillon added 42 assists and six digs.

The Crimson Eagles wrap up their regular season with a 21-10 overall record. The group will begin postseason play in the NECVA Tournament next weekend in Hoboken, NJ.
