BANNER ELK, NC - Playing a pair of NCAA II schools in North Carolina Monday evening, the men's volleyball team dropped back to back matches, falling 3-2 to Limestone College and 3-0 to Lees-McRae College.

After stringing together four consecutive road wins, the Crimson Eagles couldn't keep their recent hot streak intact, dropping successive matches for the first time in over a full year.

The Crimson Eagles fought blow for blow against Limstone but couldn't overcome the Saints during a 25-21, 25-27, 25-19, 22-25, 17-19 loss. Limestone blasted PBU's front line for a .305 hitting clip on the night while producing 18 total blocks on the defensive end.

Despite a game high 32 kills from senior Justin Brubaker, the Crimson Eagles were hindered during the final frame with their worst hitting percentage of the evening (.059). Noah Prickett added 18 spikes in the loss for PBU and Josh Tuttle added 10. Drew Dillon posted 57 assists and 13 digs.

In the nightcap against Lees-McRae, the Bobcats steamrolled past the visitors by scores of 25-21, 25-13, 25-18, winning their eighth game in nine tries in the process.

The host group held significant advantages in attack percentage (.362 to .038), total blocks (7.0 to 2.0), and total kills (35-24). It signals just the second time this year that the Crimson Eagles have been swept.

Brubaker finished the match with 10 kills and six digs and Prickett added seven spikes.

The Crimson Eagles slip to 20-7 on the year following the pair of losses.

The team will look to bounce back Tuesday evening in Tennessee during a date with King College on the road. Game time against the Tornado's is 5:00 pm.
