LANGHORNE, PA
- PBU's Women's Soccer team won their first conference match of the season at home against Cedar Crest College and break out of their 8-game skid.

Two goals from Amara Mills, both assisted by Lizz Stine, helped the Crimson Eagles win to the tune of 2-1. The goals also helped end their goalless streak of 490 minutes. With her two goals, Mills is now the leading goal scorer for the Crimson Eagles this season with 5 goals.

Heading into this match, Lizz Stine had yet to record a point. She now sits tied for the team lead in assists with a pair.

It all began in the 16th minute of play when Mills took a pass from Stine and beat the Cedar Crest goalkeeper, Krystan Gillan, to give PBU the go ahead goal.

The Crimson Eagles lead would hold for another 18 minutes until the Falcons' Jennie Huber knocked in a 40 yard free-kick in the 34th minute.

The second half was played at much the same tempo as the first, with PBU's passing build up play and Cedar Crest looking to hit on the counter-attack. The Crimson Eagles backline of Jess Holt, Natalie Crook, and Lisa D'Alessandro put in a strong performance and only allowed the Falcons six shots all game, 3 in each half.

With the defense holding firm, PBU just needed to find the net once again. The effort was there up front with tireless running from Chelsea Troyer and Erin Hoyt on the wings and multi-sport athlete Sara Poole dictating play in the middle of the field. Stine, Mills, and speedster Sarah Vogel hounded the Falcons backline all game creating turnovers, allowing PBU to maintain possession throughout the game.

All the effort paid off with just over 6 minutes to play when Amara Mills, who seemed to be in the right place at the right time, slammed home a rebound off of Lizz Stine's shot.

PBU would hold out the final minutes of the match giving Coach Behnke and the girls their first win the Colonial States Athletic Conference this season.

They improve to 3-9 overall and 1-6 in the CSAC.

This Saturday, PBU travels to Aston, Pa to take on CSAC powerhouse Neumann University at 1pm.
