Box Score Doylestown, PA - Cairn Women's Soccer (0-1 / 0-0 United East) traveled to Delaware Valley University (1-0 / 0-0 MAC
Freedom) for the 2026 season opener, dropping the season's first contest, 1-0.

The Highlanders looked to strike net first in the early season contest with two shots saved by
the Aggies goalie in the first eight minutes of play; the first by sophomore Ella Quince
(Morrisville, PA / Morrisville) in the sixth minute, followed by Juliana Condurso (Brick, NJ /
Calvary Academy) in the seventh minute. The Aggies then took their turn on goal, with two
attempts saved by the senior Cairn goalkeeper, Rhian Erspamer (Valparaiso, IN / Victory
Christian Academy) in the eighth and tenth minute, respectively.
Delaware Valley scored the first, and only, goal of the evening off a Highlander miscue, giving
the Aggies a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute of the first period.
Condurso was back on the attack soon after, landing a shot on goal in the 17th minute that was
saved by the Aggies' keeper. The junior finished the night with a team high 2 shots on goal.

A lightning delay halted action midway through the first period, but Cairn's Erspamer stayed
ready with three additional saves to finish out the half. In the final 16 minutes of the first half
following the delay, Delaware Valley flipped the field on the Highlanders, out shooting Cairn 5-1
in the final 16 of the first period.
Trailing 1-0, the second period began with three shots on goal by the Aggies' offense, all three
of which were saved by Erspamer (50', 50', 53'). In the midst of the shooting flurry, Highlander
freshman Paityn Smith (Lancaster, PA / Penn Manor), logged her first collegiate shot on goal in
the 52nd minute. The two teams traded shots the rest of the way, including shots on goal by
junior Josey Smith (Levittown, PA / Pennsbury) and senior Paige Noble (Egg Harbor Township,
NJ / Atlantic Christian) in the 61st and 68th minute, respectively. However, neither team was
able to get back on the board, ending the game in a 1-0 defeat for the Highlanders.
Delaware Valley outshot Cairn 13-11, 10-6 in shots on goal. The Highlanders totaled 10 saves to
the Aggies' 6, but the lone goal proved one too many for Cairn.

The Highlanders continue their road stretch in the opening week of the 2026 season, as they
head down the road to Hackettstown, NJ, for a 12pm kickoff against Centenary University this
Saturday, September 5.
