Box Score

MAHWAH, NJ -
After pumping out a historic 23-11 campaign a year ago that included a march into the NECVA championship, the men's volleyball team opened up the 2011 slate right where they left off, blowing past Ramapo College on opening night.

Minus a third set debacle, the Crimson Eagles cruised to a 3-1 triumph over their counterpart, winning by scores of 25-21, 25-21, 12-25, 25-20. PBU used a total defensive effort to slug out the win over the final two frames, limiting the Roadrunners to a .098 hitting percentage for the match while putting up 10 total block assists.

Playing in the newly aligned Metro Conference, the Crimson Eagles were able to start off the season with a triumph over a league foe fueled by senior Justin Brubaker's game high 17 kills. With a plus-70 percent sideout percentage over the first two frames, the visitors were able to bounce back in the fourth set following a wretched third rally that saw the group commit 11 errors.

Noah Prickett notched 11 kills on a .364 hitting percentage and Drew Dillon added 40 assists. Bill Lukacs provided eight digs on the defensive side.

Ramapo slips to 1-2 with the loss.

Currently ranked sixth in the nation, the Crimson Eagles will continue action in New Jersey tomorrow during a highly anticipated contest against fifth ranked Rivier College. Game time against is 11:00 am. The team will wrap up the day at 2:00 pm against Vassar College.
