BARNSTABLE, MA - Friday night saw the men's volleyball team advance to the second round of the NECVA postseason tournament for just the second time in school history as the Crimson Eagles blew past Hunter College 3-0 to help keep their championship dreams alive.
Having never advanced past the second round, PBU will try to wade into uncharted territory Saturday afternoon against the winner of Endicott and Emmanuel.
On Friday, the fourth seeded Crimson Eagles somewhat easily handled the Hawks, skirting past the 13th seeded squad 30-23, 32-30, 30-18.
Drew Dillon notched 48 assists in the winning effort and Justin Brubaker logged 22 kills, seven digs, and four block assists. Noah Prickett chipped in with 10 digs and two aces and Leo Deuck added 11 spikes and eight stops on the defensive side.
The win puts the Crimson Eagles in the "Elite Eight" as the group will play tomorrow at 1:00 pm.
