LANGHORNE, PA - The men's volleyball team went one for two Saturday, falling to Rivier College 3-1 before squeaking past host Ramapo College 3-2.
Rivier slipped past the Crimson Eagles early Saturday morning as the Raiders pulled out the win by scores of 30-28, 33-31, 27-30, 30-21. The sixth-ranked team in the nation, Rivier utilized a .326 hitting percentage for the match to keep their perfect season thus far intact.
Third-year outside hitter Justin Brubaker posted 21 kills in the loss while Leando Dueck (11 kills, 14 digs) and Noah Pricket (11 kills) both reached double figures as well.
PBU managed to grit out a triumph in match two on the day as the Crimson Eagles snuck past Ramapo College by scores of 30-21, 23-30, 46-48, 30-22, 15-11. The third set - which combined to produce 94 total points - sets a NECVA record for the longest game ever played. Despite eventually falling in the dramatic rally to go down 2-1, the Crimson Eagles battled back, closing out the final two games to secure the W.
Brubaker finished the contest with 24 kills and 12 digs and Dueck added 23 kills, eight stops defensively, and six block assists. Pricket added 13 spikes and freshman Justin Mueleer chipped in win with 12 digs.
The Crimson Eagles will return to action on Wednesday, heading to Hoboken, NJ to go up against Stevens Institute of Technology at 7:00 pm.
