PBU Unable to Contain Abington Attack

Box Score

LANGHORNE, PA – Describing Elsion Pajollari’s performance on Monday afternoon with adjectives such as remarkable, tremendous, or even phenomenal probably wouldn’t do the sophomore forward justice.

Pajollari proved to be an absolutely unstoppable force for the Crimson Eagle back line, netting five goals for visiting Penn State Abington to lead the Nittany Lions past PBU during a 5-2 triumph in nonconference action.

It was one of those performances that rolls around every couple of years - a game in which fans sit back and realize they're seeing something special. And unfortunately, Pajollari's career day came at the helpless expense of PBU.

Berks would break open the game by going up 2-0 in the opening 20 minutes before Crimson Eagle forward Phil Haas would counter with his third score in two games. Looking to even things at 2-all, Pajollari instead answered the call, putting his group up with two more goals before the first 45 minutes was all said and done.

Jeremy Dunham would provide the host squad with a quick spark to open up the back end of play by lining a 30 yard rip that blew past the outstretched arm of Abington keeper Daniel Carmack. It would pull PBU back to within two, but Pajollari would once again respond in stunning fashion, connected for his fifth goal of the afternoon.

The Crimson Eagles fall to 4-5-1 with the loss while the Nittany Lions move to 4-3 on the year.

The soccer team will return to the field this Thursday during the group's second straight home outing. PBU will take on Centenary College at 4:00 pm.
