MSOC: Highlanders Advance to Quarterfinal Round via Miller's Hat Trick

LANGHORNE, PA – Men's Soccer hosted the First Round of the 2025 United East Tournament as the #7 seed with #10 Wilson College coming back to Langhorne for a rematch of the regular season. A hat trick would advance the Highlanders to the next round as Cairn won 3-1.

Cairn (5-9-3 / 3-4-1 UNITED EAST) had the first three tries at the net, connecting on the third as freshman midfielder Nathan Babyak (Albertville, France / Mechanicsburg) found junior forward Alijah Miller (Monroe, NC / Homeschool) after a throw in, putting the Highlanders up in the 11th minute. The Phoenix managed their first shot a few moments later, off target.  Wilson (3-9-5 / 1-4-3 UNITED EAST) managed three shots of their own before Miller got back to doing what he does best, scoring in the 35th minute, assisted by junior forward Brock Burres (Wanaque, NJ / Hawthorne Christian), holding onto a 2-0 lead at the break.

The Phoenix scored in the 50th minute to cut the lead in half on their first shot of the half. As the Highlanders outshot Wilson 4-2 through the next 25 minutes, Miller netted his third goal of the night in the 76th minute, junior defender Aaron Babyak (Mechanicsburg, PA / Mechanicsburg) finding sophomore midfielder Kaleb Demoraes (São Paulo, Brazil / Calvary Christian Academy) to Miller to make it 3-1. Wilson would manage four shots, one of which was on target, through the rest of the match as Cairn's defense held strong and with the final whistle, advances them to the Quarterfinal Round.

Miller recorded his second hat trick of the season, and second of his collegiate career, with both Babyak brothers, Burres, and Demoraes picking up a point each of assists.

Cairn will play #2 Penn St. Harrisburg in the next round on the road Saturday at 4 p.m.
