LATHAM, NY – The United East Conference has released its All-Conference Teams and Major Award winners in the sport of Men's Soccer on Wednesday. All three All-Conference teams are made up of three forwards, four midfielders, four defenders, one goalie and two at-large selections. Additionally, the conference has named its Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year.
Cairn Men's Soccer junior forward
Alijah Miller (Monroe, NC / Homeschool) and sophomore defender
Emanuel Lazor (Midland Park, NJ / Eastern Christian) both received first team honors as the two Highlanders recognized this season.
Miller led the squad for Cairn in scoring, amassing 14 goals, the most in the conference on a United East-leading 93 shots. The junior attacker totaled 30 points, second most among the field and was named United East Offensive Player of the Week for September 22 after his first hat trick of the season against Centenary University. This is the third All-Conference award for Miller as he was named to the second team list last season.
Lazor played 1,599 minutes (second-most on the team) from the defensive midfield, scoring two goals with one assist, but his impact would go beyond the numbers on the stat sheet as he consistently showed up to create defensive pressure and facilitate the Cairn offense. Lazor earned a Player of the Week nod in the second week of the season, scoring a game-tying goal at Ramapo College as he played 180 minutes across back-to-back matches, earning him the honors on September 8. This is Lazor's first appearance on an All-Conference team.
