KENOSHA, WI - The Crimson Eagles went one for two for the second straight day Saturday afternoon, defeating the Milwaukee School of Engineering but losing to UC Santa Cruz during the Carthage College Tournament.
After falling for the first time in nine outings Friday evening, the volleyball team got back into the winning column early Saturday morning, downing the Milwaukee School of Engineering 30-21, 30-21, 30-20.
Leandro Dueck posted 13 kills and nine digs and Justin Brubaker added 22 kills and eight digs, including his 1,000th career kill. Drew Dillon had 40 assists and Jon Rose chipped in with 10 digs.
The Crimson Eagles couldn't overcome fourth-ranked UC Santa Cruz late Saturday afternoon, falling 30-18, 30-28, 30-23. Dueck amassed 13 kills and seven digs and Brubaker carded 10 and eight, respectively. Dillon added 33 assists.
The Crimson Eagles will wrap up their regular season two Wednesdays from now at home, hosting sixth ranked Ramapo College in the Mason Activity Center at 7:00 pm.
