Second Time's a Charm

Sophomore setter Drew Dillon, who is currenly ranked second nationally in helpers per match, once again topped the 50-assist plateau Saturday.

- After falling to Eastern Mennonite University at home one week ago, the men's volleyball team managed to turn the tables this time around.

Playing on EMU's home turf in Virginia, the Crimson Eagles nontheless limited the Royals to a .072 hitting percentage throughout evening and blitzed EMU's defensive scheme for 67 kills, marking PBU's greatest production offensively for for the year.

The visitors eventually walked away with a 3-1 win over the twelfth ranked team in the country, pulling out their fourth triumph of the season by scores of 30-26, 30-28, 24-30, 30-24.

All-American Justin Brubaker proved to be too much defensively for the Royals as the second-year outside hitter collected a season high 28 kills on the afternoon including six clutch spikes during the final moments of the fourth set to help close out the match.

Sophomore Drew Dillon topped the 50-assist benchmark for the second straight match and the third time on the year, while providing 12 digs on the defensive end. Junior Leandro Dueck chipped in with 14 kills and 17 digs and Jon Rose pitched in with 13 stops defensively.

The Crimson Eagles improve to 4-5 on the year while the Royals slip to 5-4.

PBU will return to the court on Wednesday for another divisional match, this time taking on Stevenson University in Langhorne at 7:00 pm.
