Crimson Eagles Fall in Three Straight

Junior Leandro Dueck had a monster game Friday, producing 22 kills, 32 digs, and eight block assists in a 3-2 loss to Sacred Heart University.
MAHWAH, NJ - Heading into the weekend, the Crimson Eagles knew they'd have to work for everything against three powerhouse volleyball programs. Playing a D1 squad along with two teams in the top 15 of in NCAA III over Friday and Saturday, PBU couldn't quite keep pace with their well-balanced and deep opposition.

It took all of five sets but the Crimson Eagles eventually fell to Sacred Heart University Friday night by scores of 30-27, 27-30, 38-40, 30-25, 13-15.

Justin Brubaker had 25 kills while Leandro Dueck churned out 22 kills and 32 digs to go with eight block assists. Andrew Dittman chipped in with 13 kills with a .600 attack percentage.

On Saturday, the Crimson Ealges fell in their morning match with Rivier College by scores of 30-21, 30-20, 30-23. Dueck and Brubaker combined for 25 kills and 17 digs as the team was limited to just a .117 hitting percentage.

Ramapo College of New Jersey completed the sweep of PBU on Saturday, downing the Crimson Eagles in three straight sets later Saturday afternoon.

PBU will host their first contest of the year in the Mason Activity Center next Thursday when the group takes on Baruch College at 7:30 pm.
