LANCASTER, PA - If there's a better way to open up a season, it's news to me.
The Crimson Eagles downed longtime rival Lancaster Bible in three sets Thursday evening, drilling the Chargers by scores of 30-18, 30-23, and 30-21.
Perhaps more important than simply representing PBU's first win of the season, Thursday's match also more significantly marks a check in the winning column within conference play as the Chargers are one of four NECVA Western teams that PBU will go head-to-head with throughout the year.
Sophomore setter Drew Dillon finished the evening with 30 assists with classmate Justin Brubaker added 15 kills. Junior Leandro Dueck added 10 digs, nine kills and six assists while rookie Oliver Good added seven kills in his first ever collegiate match.
PBU will resume play on Friday when the group takes on Division I Sacred Heart University in Mahwah, NJ at 8:00 pm.
