LANGHORNE, PA – Freshman Erica Yordy (Palmyra, PA) was selected to the Colonial States Athletic Conference Field Hockey Second Team and junior Lauren Roth (Mont Clare, PA) was named to the Honorable Mention squad as announced by the CSAC on Monday.
Yordy, a first-year midfielder, picked up second-team honors after leading the Crimson Eagles in total shots (63), goals (9), and assists (3) in her rookie campaign. She finished the year sixth overall in the conference in terms of shots per game and was tied for ninth regarding goals per outing. Of PBU’s six wins on the season, Yordy carded the game-winning goal in three of those triumphs.
Roth, a third-year goalkeeper, was named an honorable mention recipient following a year in which she allowed just 2.99 scores per contest while turning away.743 of the shots fired her way. Incredibly, it was Roth’s first year in the cage for the Crimson Eagles as the converted forward ranked 34th nationally in terms of saves per game (8.39) and registered the second most saves in a single game in all of Division III this year after charting 32 stops during a matchup-up with Delaware Valley College on September 10th.
Additionally, sophomore defender Kate Sauder (New Holland, PA) received the CSAC Sportsmanship Award in her first season with the field hockey team. Sauder was one 10 recipients across the conference to be honored for displaying outstanding sportsmanship characteristics throughout the year.
