The Crimson Eagles fell at home to top-ranked Cabrini College Saturday afternoon. PBU's offense came up empty in the 1-0 shutout.
Box Score

LANGHORNE, PA - Fighting for their playoff lives, the field hockey team gave everything they had against the top-ranked squad in the conference, but ultimately fell in a 1-0 decision against Cabrini College Saturday afternoon in Langhorne.

Unfortunately, PBU's loss coupled with a 1-0 Immaculata victory over the College of Notre Dame earlier in the day officially knocks the squad out of playoff contention.

On Saturday, the Crimson Eagles had their chances against the first place Cavaliers but couldn't quite capitalize on the offensive end. PBU held off the visitors for 48 minutes of play, but Cabrini forward Lauren Alessi broke the 0-0 deadlock off a feed from teammate Samantha Ewan to give the visitors a one goal cushion. Alessi's score ended up being the game winner as neither team could finish in the waning minutes.

PBU drops to 5-13 (4-5 CSAC) with the loss. Cabrini concludes their regular season schedule with a perfect CSAC record at 9-0.

The Crimson Eagles will wrap up their season with a non conference contest against Albright College next Thursday at 4:30 pm. PBU will take on the Lions at 4:30 pm.
