MSOC: Late Goal Lifts Aggies Over Highlanders

DOYLESTOWN, PA – Cairn Men's Soccer was overcome by DelVal with a late goal as the Highlanders fell to the Aggies, 2-1.
 
Delaware Valley (5-0) wasted no time, netting a goal in the 7th minute as the Highlanders found themselves down early. Junior forward Brock Burres (Wanaque, NJ / Hawthorne Christian) would have the answer for Cairn (0-2-2) in the 26th minute on the right side of the net, assisted by classmate Alijah Miller (Monroe, NC / Homeschool), as the match remained tied into the break.
 
The majority of the second half would remain scoreless as both squads fired off three shots. DelVal made a late push, scoring in the 76th minute as Burres had the last open look for the Highlanders, coming up short.
 
Burres netted his first goal of the season as Miller picked up a point for the assist.
 
 The Highlanders return home after three games on the road to host Lebanon Valley College on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.
