MVB: Poirier Highlights Major Awards as Player of the Year; Cash, Adler Named All-Conference

LATHAM, NY - The United East has announced its 2025 Men's Volleyball All-Conference Teams and Major Award winners. Cairn Men's Volleyball topped the list with the Player of the Year as well as three All-Conference selections. The three All-Conference teams are made up of five attackers, one setter, one libero and two at-large bids. An Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year has also been awarded.

Sophomore outside hitter Sam Poirier (Nogyang, South Korea / International Christian School Uijeongbu) was named United East Player of the Year after a Second Team All-Conference selection last season. Poirier led both his team and the conference in numerous statistical categories. He piled up 4.63 kills per set which not only topped the United East but ranked second in all of NCAA Division III. He hit efficiently as well, hitting at a clip of .271 which ranks fourth in the league. All of that play has led to Poirier averaging 4.93 points per set which ranks seventh in the country. Poirier set Cairn's single game record for kills this season with 40 against St. Elizabeth, which is the most kills in a single match this season by any player in any NCAA division. His talent has not gone unnoticed this season as he has earned United East Player of the Week three times.

Junior libero Kobe Cash (Yardley, PA / Calvary Christian) was named Second Team All-Conference as a libero, finishing top five in digs per game (2.83) while junior setter Josh Adler (Levittown, PA / Neshaminy) was named Third Team All-Conference for setters, leading the league in assists per set (8.66), his third consecutive year as an All-Conference performer.
