MVB: Cairn Wins Third-Straight At Neumann

ASTON, PA – Cairn Men's Volleyball won their third consecutive game on Wednesday against Neumann University ahead of their United East Conference Championship appearance.

Cairn (10-8 / 6-2 UNITED EAST) got off to a red-hot start in the first set, being up 15-10 with many errors coming from Neumann. Junior setter Josh Adler (Levittown, PA / Neshaminy)  would have 8 assists in this set, helping the team stay close with the Knights. Neumann wouldn't go away though and would go on to score the last 9 out of 12 points to take the first set of the game.

The second set was an important one with the Highlanders not backing down. Sophomore outside hitter Sam Poirier (Nogyang, South Korea / International Christian School Uijeongbu) had 7 kills in this set alone with 25 total in the game. The Highlanders would win set two, 25-22.

A close game overall but at the end the Highlanders would have the advantage and come out with a huge conference win and would put them over the Knights in an important United East battle for a premier playoff spot. Junior right side David Larbi (Bensalem, PA / Bensalem) would go on to have himself a night, with 4 blocks, 9 kills, and 12 total points.

The Highlanders would look to play #6 seeded Valley Forge on Saturday night in the Mason Activity Center at 7 PM.
