LANCASTER, PA – Cairn Baseball took on Lancaster Bible College at Penn Medicine Park for game one of their conference series, taking the game 6-4.
Each starter held the lineups scoreless the first time around before Lancaster Bible (16-16 / 6-5 UNITED EAST) drove a run in with an RBI single in the third. The Highlanders responded immediately in their next offensive half inning was senior first baseman
Tyler Warr (Langhorne, PA / Neshaminy) came around to score after working a walk on sophomore designated hitter
Andrew Holt's (Sunrise, FL / New College of Florida) single to left field.
Holt would be go-to guy to deliver the lead to Cairn (18-11 / 7-3 UNITED EAST) in the sixth as he came up with another RBI single, scoring senior centerfielder
Will Wikner (Gaithersburg, MD / Shenandoah University) after his leadoff single to start the frame. The Chargers would gallop ahead in the bottom half with two runs on as many hits, taking a 3-2 lead.

Nathan Schurga (Wilmington, DE / Conrad Schools of Science) would get the offense going in the seventh as senior right fielder
Dylan Jackson (Levittown, PA / Chestnut Hill College) then walked followed by Wikner singling to load the bases with one out. Warr was hit by a pitch to tie the game before junior catcher
Zach Bauers (Cooper City, FL / Cooper City) put the ball in play and scored two runs on an error, taking a 5-3 lead.
Cairn was able to add an insurance run from Holt, singling to score Warr, making it 6-2. Lancaster Bible's parting shot would be an infield single to score one before the third out, delivering the win for Cairn, 6-4.
Holt went 3-4 in the game with three RBI on the night while Wikner went 2-5 with a pair of runs. Junior reliever
Greg Jessup (Tyler, TX / McKinney Christian) got the win (3-1) as he threw 3.1 innings of relief, allowing one run while striking out six.
Cairn heads to Gwynedd Mercy on Thursday afternoon before a conference series with St. Elizabeth on Saturday at home (St. Elizabeth will be the home team on Cairn's field).
