ST. MARY'S CITY, MD – Men's Soccer dropped their afternoon conference match with St. Mary's College of Maryland after a second-half comeback by the Seahawks.
After five shots to open the match by the Seahawks, graduate midfielder
Matthews Lungu (Lilongwe, Malawi / African Bible College – Malawi) connected on Cairn's (3-8-3 / 2-3-1 UNITED EAST) only shot of the first half, providing an early lead. After holding St. Mary's (10-5-1 / 7-0 UNITED EAST) to only two more shots in the half with the Highlanders holding the lead at the break.
St. Mary's tied the match early in the second half, taking the lead with another goal in the 81
st minute as Cairn managed two late shots, both to no avail.
Lungu netted his second goal of the season as Cairn's only shot on goal of the day.
Cairn will head to Penn St. Abington on Tuesday night as the regular season winds down.
