BALTIMORE MD—Highlanders traveled down to Baltimore Maryland on Saturday, tying Notre Dame 1-1.
Cairn (1-8-2, 0-3-1 United East) wasted no time in this game, getting an early lead in the 7th minute through junior midfielder
Paige Noble (Egg Harbor Township, NJ / Atlantic Christian School). They didn't stop there, they pushed to get a second; the Highlanders got off 5 shots while keeping the Gators to only 2 shots. It didn't take long for Notre Dame (2-8-1, 1-3-1 United) to level the match. With a goal in the 39th minute, the Gators made it 1-1 heading into half time.
Noble started the second half with a shot in the 48th minute, sending it a bit high; the score stayed 1-1. The Gators pushed to take the lead with 6 shots while keeping the Highlanders to just 1, but their efforts fall short as junior goalkeeper
Rhian Erspamer (Valparaiso, IN / Victory Christian Academy) protected the net and denied Notre Dame of the lead. The Gator's did not back down though, getting the last shot of the game in the 87th minute, failing to convert, they sent it high. The game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Noble nets her fifth goal of the season.
Cairn will head back home to host Penn St. Harrisburg in Langhorne, PA this Wednesday at 7pm.
