HACKETTSTOWN, NJ – The Cairn Women's Soccer team fell to the Cyclones of Centenary University on Saturday morning to move to 0-1-1 on the young season.
Centenary (1-2) opened the match with a goal less than two minutes in to go ahead 1-0. The Cyclones followed up at the end of the first half with two more (32' and 43') to close the initial frame up 3-0. Cairn (0-1-1) managed four shots in the half.
In the second half, the Cyclones were fouled in the box in the 62nd minute, awarding them a penalty kick which they netted to add to their lead. The Highlanders had an open look at goal from freshman
Juliana Condurso (Brick, NJ / Calvary Academy) but couldn't find the back of the net. Condurso had the final shot of the day for Cairn in the 83
rd minute as it was saved to seal the win for Centenary.
Cairn Women's Soccer will be hosted by Delaware Valley University on Wednesday for a rematch of last year's match, kicking off at 7 p.m.
