Sophomore midfielder Ella Quince (Morrisville, PA / Morrisville) got the day started with a goal just thirty seconds into the match, assisted by freshman midfielder Juliana Condurso (Brick, NJ / Calvary Academy) to score a lead for Cairn (1-5-1 / 1-0 United East). Sophomore midfielder Paige Noble (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ / Atlantic Christian) scored in the 9th minute to put Notre Dame of Maryland (1-6-0 / 0-1 United East) behind by two in just ten minutes of play. Quince netted her second goal of the day, and of the half, at the end of the 18th minute, assisted by freshman forward Josey Smith (Levittown, PA / Pennsbury). The Gators would attempt their first shot of the game in the 36th minute, a credit to the Highlander defense and sophomore goalkeeper Rhian Erspamer (Valparaiso, IN / Victory Christian). Sophomore defender Emily Brittin (Winslow, PA / Pilgrim Academy) closed out the first half with a bang, scoring in the 43rd Condurso NDMUminute, assisted by freshman defender Abby Mellinger (Telford, PA / Dock Mennonite), closing the half with a 4-0 lead.

In the second half, Mellinger took her turn scoring, assisted by Condurso, in the 53rd minute. As the defense remained untouchable, Condurso found junior forward Cameron Cook (Morrisville, PA / Millersville) for her third assist of the game as the Highlanders handedly shutout Notre Dame (MD), 6-0.

The Cairn defense held Notre Dame (MD) to eight shots for the game, with a single shot in the first half and only three shots on goal while Cairn attempted 38 shots, 25 of which were on goal. Quince was the leading scorer with a career-high pair of goals and the game winner as Condurso facilitated the action with three assists, also crediting Smith and Mellinger with assists. Erspamer collected her first collegiate shutout, saving all three shots faced.
