WSOC: Women's Soccer Downed by Lancaster Bible, 2-1

LANCASTER, PA- The Cairn Highlanders Women's Soccer team traveled to the Lancaster Bible College Chargers on Wednesday evening as they were downed by LBC 2-1.

Starting the game off, sophomore forward Paige Noble (Egg Harbor Township / Atlantic Christian) launched a shot on goal within the first five minutes of the game. Lancaster Bible (2-3-4 / 1-1 UNITED EAST) took the lead in the 23rd minute, adding a second in the 30th minute. With ten minutes left of the first half, sophomore midfielder Ella Quince (Morrisville, PA / Morrisville) launched a counter for the Highlanders, with a near miss above the bar. 

Entering into the second half, at a deficit, Cairn (1-6-1 / 1-1 UNITED EAST) came in looking to score. Freshman defender Macie Starr (Cleveland, TN / Walker Valley) brought a shot on goal followed by fifth year midfielder Em Kuansongtham (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School) with two more. Three four minutes to go, Quince sank a goal in the top left corner off a penalty kick, cutting the lead in half. The Chargers would hold on for their first conference win, 2-1. 

Cairn hosts Penn State Brandywine on Saturday, October 5 at 5 p.m.
