WSOC: Six Goals Lead Highlanders Over Penn St. Brandywine

LANGHORNE, PA – Cairn Women's Soccer picked up another home conference win, 6-0, against United East newcomers, Penn State Brandywine on Saturday evening, improving to 2-1 in conference play.

Sophomore forward Ella Quince (Morrisville, PA / Morrisville) got the Highlanders on the board in the 12th minute on a free kick to the right of the penalty area and was followed by freshman forward Josey Smith (Levittown, PA / Pennsbury) two minutes later, assisted by Quince. Cairn (2-6-1 / 2-1 United East) added a another in the 20th minute, scored by freshman midfielder Juliana Condurso (Brick, NJ / Calvary Academy), assisted by fifth year midfielder Em Kuansongtham (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School). The Highlanders were awarded a penalty kick taken by sophomore forward Paige Noble (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ / Atlantic Christian) who made the lead 4-0 (24'). Condurso scored another in the 29th, assisted by Smith, before Kuansongtham put the game out of reach, 6-0, on a goal assisted by freshman defender Macie Starr (Cleveland, TN / Walker Valley).

The Highlanders stayed quiet in the shortened second half while holding Penn State – Brandywine (1-7-1 / 0-3 United East) without a shot in the shutout while the Highlanders finished with fifty shots and twenty shots on goal.

Condurso finished with a pair of goals while Smith, Kuansongtham, and Quince had a goal and assist apiece. Starr also contributed an assist. The Highlander defense did not allow sophomore goalkeeper Rhian Erspamer (Valparaiso, IN / Victory Christian) to have to face a single shot as they kept the ball on the far side of midfield for most of the contest.

Next up for the Highlanders will be Bryn Athyn College on the road, Tuesday night in a rematch of last season's Divisional Championship, kicking off at 5 p.m.
