MONTCLAIR, NJ – On Friday night, the Cairn Women's soccer traveled to Montclair State, falling in their battle against the Red Hawks, 8-1.
Montclair State (2-3-3) held the Highlanders without a shot in the first half, taking a 2-0 lead into halftime.
In the second, the Red Hawks pushed onward, stretching their lead to 7-0 before freshman defender Macie Starr (Cleveland, TN / Walker Valley) found the back of the net for her first collegiate goal, with only fifteen minutes remaining in the match. Montclair State would add another in the 78th minute and close the match with an 8-1 victory.
The Highlanders are back in action on Wednesday as they host Marywood University under the lights at 7 p.m.
