LANGHORNE, PA – The Cairn Highlanders won their sixth straight game on Monday, moving to 1-0 during solar eclipses, as they eclipsed the Centenary Cyclones, 6-2.
Centenary (10-15 / 3-5 ATLANTIC EAST) got ahead in the second inning with a two-out double, scoring on an RBI single. Junior designated hitter
Tyler Harris (Oxford, PA / Oxford) worked a walk to lead off the bottom half as freshman shortstop
Nathan Schurga (Wilmington, DE / Conrad Schools of Science) moved him into scoring position with a single through the right side. Junior left fielder
Will Wikner (Gaithersburg, MD / Shenandoah University)

put the ball in play to the left side, scoring Harris to tie things up at one.
Cairn (14-11 / 8-4 UNITED EAST SKYE DIVISION) added another in the fifth as the Highlanders got the bases loaded and brought junior
Dylan Jackson (Levittown, PA / Chestnut Hill College) across to score on a sacrifice fly by fifth year second baseman
Joe Greenwood (Wall, NJ / Calvary Academy). Classmate
Sam Spadea (Yardley, PA / Pennsbury) led off the sixth with a single down the line and was moved into scoring position by Schurga on a sacrifice bunt. Freshman centerfielder
Zachary Johnson (Hawaii Kai, HI / TCS Post Grad) drove Spadea in with a single up the middle. Jackson came up with a two-run homer to right, putting Cairn at a safe distance, up 5-1. The Cyclones threatened in the seventh, as they scratched across a single run, making it a 5-2 game.

The Highlanders added an insurance run in the eighth as Schurga was hit by a pitch and came around to score. Sophomore reliever
Nick Benson (Philadelphia, PA / Father Judge) picked up his second save of the season, locking down the win with 3.0 innings in relief, surrendering a single hit.
Junior lefty
Joe Battaglia (Franklin, TN / Brentwood Academy) got the mid-week start, hurling 6.0 innings of one-run ball, striking out a pair and allowing only three hits as he moved to 4-1 on the season. Warr and Schurga each had a game-high two hits, Jackson adding a hit with two runs and two RBI to lead the Highlanders to a six-game win streak.
Cairn with matchup with another former conference foe in Neumann University on Tuesday as they head to Aston, PA for a 3:30 first pitch against the Knights.
