MLAX: Cairn Battles with Penn College in Williamsport

WILLIAMSPORT, PA –The Cairn University Men's Lacrosse team battled with the Penn College Wildcats to a 29-6 defeat on the road, Saturday afternoon.
 
NOTABLES
  • Senior attacker Jonathan Balsamo (Long Island, NY / Eastport South Manor) had four goals in the loss on seven shots.
  • Freshman attacker Luke Fowler (Landenberg, PA / Wilmington Christian) and sophomore attacker Cole Heffler (Eldersburg, MD / Central Maryland Christian) each had a goal.
  • Sophomore midfielders Adain Holliday (New York, NY / Urban Assembly Maker Academy) and Ole Pertet Nyilinkindi (New York, NY / Grimsley HS) each assisted a goal for the Highlanders.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Penn College (6-5 / 1-0 UNITED EAST) jumped ahead early with 10 goals in the first quarter, leading 10-1.
  • Cairn (2-6 / 0-1 UNITED EAST) tried to fight back in the second with a goal by Fowler and three goals from Balsamo, however the Wildcats would score five goals of their own in the process to neutralize the comeback.
  • The Wildcats put up 14 goals in the second half to Cairn's one, scored by Heffler, as the Highlanders fell 29-6.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
  • Cairn will match up with St. Mary's College of Maryland on Wednesday as they continue conference play ahead of Saturday, April 6th's senior day matchup with Keystone.
