HOW IT WENT DOWN:
  • Cairn (1-8) got off to a 9-3 lead in the first set as Adler and Tolar each dropped in an ace. As the Patriots crafted a comeback, Ragonese and Sam Poirier each hammered down a pair of kills to keep Valley Forge (4-3) at bay.

GAME NOTES:
  • Cairn picks up their first win of the season against Valley Forge in non-conference play.
  • First year Head Coach Shea Scott remarked on the victory: "I am relieved to have the monkey off my back of my first career win as coach. However, my players and I recognize we played very sloppy volleyball and had we played to our ability, the score separation would have been much higher. We celebrate the win but return to practice with faith in the process that has allowed such a rapid progression so far this season."
  • Scott added; "Concerning the year so far, we stand completely content with our 1-8 record recognizing the strength of competition we have faced and the ability we've had to learn from each touch and get better. Our sole focus has been to improve every set and regardless of whether or not the numbers show that, we have accomplished that goal and will continue to do so."
UPCOMING SCHEDULE:
