MSOC: Brittain Goes for Hat Trick to Defeat Brandywine, 4-1

LANGHORNE, PA – Cairn Men's Soccer moved to 3-0 in conference play after a 4-1 victory over Penn State Brandywine on Saturday night.

Jese Brittain (Chester, PA / The Christian Academy) gave Cairn (5-2-4 / 3-0 United East) a first half lead seven minutes in as Penn State Brandywine (2-5-3 / 0-2 United East) was held to two shots in the half.

The Nittany Lions came out in the second half looking to score off the bat, which they did in the 68th minute off a penalty kick. Brittain put it on himself to break the tie and deliver a lead just over ten minutes later (79'), assisted by classmate Moses Beers (Lancaster, PA / Manheim Twp.). Brittain fired away again and hit his target in the 86th minute on a half field set started by Beers and graduate midfielder Matt Lungu (Lilongwe, Malawai / African Bible College – Malawi), credit both with an assist, for Brittain's third of the game. Sophomore forward Alijah Miller (Monroe, NC / Homeschool) added the dagger in the 88', assisted by Brittain as Cairn held on for a 4-1 win.

The final tally for Brittain was three goals and an assist in his fourth career hat trick. Miller also scored while Beers had two assists and Lungu one.

Next up on the schedule will be Bryn Athyn College on the road Tuesday, kicking off at 7:30 p.m.
