LANGHORNE, PA – Cairn Men's Soccer picked up their seventh-straight win as they continued to improve to 6-0 nearing the end of conference play with a 3-0 shutout of Keystone College on Saturday.
The offenses were all quiet in the first half as only three shots were attempted.
Freshman midfielder Emanual Lazor (Midland Park, NJ / Eastern Christian) broke the stalemate in the 56
th minute where he cleaned up a clearing mistake by Keystone (3-10 / 2-4-1 UNITED EAST) to get the Highlanders on the scoreboard. In the 70
th minute, senior midfielder
Jack Fiacco (Sunderland, MD / Northern) turned the corner to find classmate
Moses Beers (Lancaster, PA / Manheim Twp.) who had his shot saved right into the waiting arms, or rather foot, of freshman midfielder
Kaleb Demoraes (Southampton, PA / Calvary Christian) for his first collegiate goal, credit Beers with the assist. Beers then found an open sophomore forward
Alijah Miller (Monroe, NC / Homeschool) just under a minute later for Cairn's (9-2-4 / 6-0 UNITED EAST) third goal of the match.
Lazor had what would be the game-winner while Beers finished with a goal and assist with Demoraes picking up a goal as well. Sophomore goalkeeper
Xander Jakeway (Lancaster, CA / Quartz Hill) marked his third shutout of the season, facing only three shots and saving the Giants' lone shot on goal.
Cairn Men's Soccer's seventh win in a row is now their longest winning streak since the Highlanders won eleven straight in 2018.
The Highlanders will hit the road one last time for the regular season on Tuesday, heading to Williamsport to face Penn College before closing conference play at home for senior day on Saturday.
