ROSEMONT, PA – Cairn Women's Soccer earned their third shutout of the season, defeating Rosemont College on Wednesday night in a tight 1-0 battle.
After a barrage of shots to open the contest, sophomore forward
Paige Noble (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ / Atlantic Christian) netted her fifth goal of the season, assisted by freshman forward
Juliana Condurso (Brick, NJ / Calvary Academy) with her team-leading fourth assist. Cairn (4-7-1 / 4-2 UNITED EAST) would get three more looks at goal but take a 1-0 lead into half.
Rosemont (5-8 / 2-4 UNITED EAST) was held without a shot for the first ten minutes of half number two, taking seven total in the frame to try and equal the Highlanders' lone goal. Time would run out on the Raven's hopes as Cairn's defense, led by junior goalkeeper
Elizabeth Cobb (Cortland, NY / Cortland Christian) with nine saves in ninety minutes of work, held them scoreless.
Noble and Condurso, with a goal and assist, respectively, were the only offense Cairn needed on the night in the shutout, defending successfully the Ravens' twelve shots.
Cairn will host the Giants of Keystone College on Saturday afternoon for senior day after honoring the Highlanders' three graduating student-athletes.
