BRYN ATHYN, PA - The Cairn University Men's & Women's Cross Country teams ran in the Bryn Athyn Invitational on a rainy Saturday morning.
The women's team raced at 9 a.m., placing first overall, with all six Cairn runners placing in the top 10. Sophomore
AyliGrace Munro (Bar Harbor, ME / Mount Desert Island HS) came through the finish line in 1st place overall for the second weekend in a row, clocking in at 16:52.4. Freshman
Clarisse Hayden (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School) followed close behind in 3rd place overall with a time of 17:28.9. Junior
Erin Wilson (Southampton, PA / Calvary Christian Academy) rounded out the Top 5 finishers with a time of 20:11.0. Senior
Jordan Harvey (Chichester, PA / The Christian Academy) finished about 30 seconds later at 20:44.6. Sophomores
Morgan Steele (Bowie, MD / Estele Christian Academy) and
Kate O'Brien (Lumberton, NJ / Trinity Preparatory) closed out the Highlander field of runners at 21:38.2 and 23:42.5, respectively.
For the men, the team placed 4th with freshman
Danny Kushay (Cinniminson, NJ / Calvary Christian Academy) finishing 4th overall as the top finisher for the men (15:29.9). Senior
Nicholas Palladino (Langhorne, PA / Homeschool) came through a few seconds later in 8th place (16:06.6). Senior
Andrew Higgins (North Hampton, NH / Jesse Remington High School) placed 18th with a time of 19:03.9 with sophomore
Adain Holliday (New York, NY / Urban Assembly Maker Academy) finishing close behind in 19th place at 19:18.5. Senior
Taylor Heim made his Highlander debut coming in 22nd place at 20:34.7 followed by sophomore
Caleb Vargas (Montgomery Village, MD / Watkins Mill) in 26th (25:30.2)
The Cairn Cross Country teams compete again next weekend on Saturday, heading to Penn State Abington for the Penn State Abington Invitational.
