LANGHORNE, PA – The Cairn Men's Soccer team closed out their regular season home games on Saturday as they took on Valley Forge on Senior Day. The Highlanders were in control, shutting out the Patriots 7-0 and keeping the Highlander teams undefeated on the day.
Before kickoff, Cairn Men's Soccer honored their graduating eight seniors: forward
Jacob O'Brien (Upper Township, NJ / Atlantic Christian School), defender
Easton Shelley (Elkton, MD / Elkton High School), forward
Geon Smallwood (Galloway, NJ / The Pilgrim Academy), midfielder
Aaron Campbell (Coopersburg, PA / Upper Bucks Christian), midfielder
Ben Noble (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ / Atlantic Christian School), defender
Jake Tolar (Fort Mill, SC / Nation Ford High School), midfielder
Elijah Morrison (Fayetteville, NC / Village Christian Academy), and defender
Kolby Bills (Lancaster, PA /Pequea Valley). They were joined by their families and teammates as they were thanked for their contributions both on and off the field over their Cairn soccer careers.
The match begun as Cairn (7-5-4 / 5-0-2 United East Skye Division) took control of the pace. Junior forward
Jesse Brittain (Chester, PA / The Christian Academy) got things started with a goal in the 16
th minute and the Highlanders never looked back. Junior midfielder
Moses Beers (Lancaster, PA / Manheim Township) would have the next two Highlander goals, the first assisted by Brittain (30') and the second, just out of the halftime break, assisted by Brittain and O'Brien (54'). Campbell would be the first Cairn senior on the board, scoring his first goal of the season, assisted as well by Brittain, in the 60
th minute. Chaos would then ensue, fittingly on senior day, as seniors Tolar and Smallwood each score their first career goals as the Highlander faithful went wild in the stands, Smallwood's assisted by Noble. (71

st minutes, respectively). The match would close on an own-goal by Valley Forge (2-13 / 0-7 United East Skye Division) as Cairn completed the shutout with a final score of 7-0.
The Highlanders outshot the Patriots 32-2 (17-1 on goal) and held Valley Forge to no shots in the first half. Beers led the offense with a pair of goals on 5 shots. Brittain had a single goal of his own but assisted on three of his teammates' goals. Campbell, Tolar, and Smallwood each had a goal on Senior Day as well as an assist tallied for Noble and O'Brien.
Cairn Men's Soccer finishes off regular season play on Wednesday as they head out to Wilson College, taking on the Phoenix at 4 p.m.
