Cross Country: AyliGrace Munro Records Third-Place Finish, Women Place Fourth as a Team at PSU Abington Invite

ABINGTON, Pa. – The Cairn University women's and men's cross-country teams were back in action on Saturday morning at the Penn State Abington Invitational meet.
 
For the women, freshman AyliGrace Munro (Bar Harbor, ME / Mount Desert Island HS) dominated the field with a platform finish, coming in third overall out of the 77-runner field with a 6K time of 26:35.21, less than a minute behind the lead. Senior Isabella Palladino (Langhorne, PA / Homeschooled) finished 38th with a time of 33:24.14 followed by junior Jordan Harvey (Chichester, PA / The Christian Academy) in 47th clocking in at 35:14.67.  Junior Amanda Schlabach (Greenwood, DE / Greenwood Mennonite) was not far behind, coming in at 36:43.85 (53rd) and senior Madeline Chase (Apalachin, NY / Ross Corners Christian Academy) rounded out the top five Cairn runners at 37:51.43 (57th). As a team, the Cairn women's cross-county team placed fourth overall in the race out of nine programs competing.
 
The men were paced by freshman Titus Dingle (Catonsville, MD / Chapelgate Christian Academy), finishing 63rd in the 119-runner field with an 8K time of 34:16.37. Junior Isaiah Castellucci (Gloucester, MA / Landmark HS) came through the finish just over a minute later, placing 71st with a time of 35:17.77. Senior Tim Colgan (Port Jervis, NY / Homeschooled) finished third among the Highlander squad with a time of 36:10.38 coming in at 79th overall followed by sophomore Nicholas Palladino (Langhorne, PA / Homeschooled) at 85th crossing the finish line at 36:44.78. Junior Joseph Keeports (York, PA / Central York HS) rounded out the top five for Men's team for Cairn, finishing with a time of 37:48.66. As a team, the Men finished 14th overall.
 
The women's and men's cross-county teams host the Highlander Invitational through campus on Saturday, October 8th with the Women starting at 10 a.m. and the Men following an hour later at 11 a.m.
