LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Cairn University men's volleyball team won, 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-13) at home against Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) foe Wilson College in their regular season finale on Saturday.
Cairn (14-4, 11-0 CSAC) handily claimed a 25-12 win in set one before battling through a hotly-contested second set with Wilson (6-12, 6-6 CSAC). The Highlanders had the Phoenix on the ropes with 24-15 advantage, before Wilson rattled off three-straight points from there to push the Highlanders near the end of the set. Cairn closed out the set with a kill from junior
Caleb Horning (Adamstown, PA / Cocalico) and cruised to a 25-12 triumph in set three to finish off its 13
th-straight win and its eight shutout in its last nine matches,
Cairn was led offensively by junior
Josh Moyer (Quakertown, PA / Quakertown Community) who hammered home a career-high 10 kills with no errors to the tune of a .556 hitting percentage in first collegiate match as a hitter. Moyer was followed by junior
Cameron Cronk (Quakertown, PA / Quakertown Community) with seven kills and nine digs. Junior
Shea Scott (Harleysville, PA / Souderton) led the passing game with a match-high 27 assists, while sophomore
Nathan Tran (Turnersville, NJ / Washington Township) scooped up a match-high 11 digs in the libero spot.
No. 1 seed Cairn will be back in action on Tuesday, April 5 when it starts the road to the CSAC Championship, welcoming the fourth-seeded Rosemont College Ravens to the Mason Activity Center in the CSAC Semifinals at 7 p.m.
