CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Cairn University women's and men's cross country teams saw their respective seasons come to a close at the NCAA Division III Metro Regional Championships hosted by DeSales University on Saturday afternoon.
The women finished in 21
st place out of the highly-competitive 24-team field, while the men were 23
rd out of 25 teams competing.
The women were led by freshman
AyliGrace Munro (Bar Harbor, ME / Mount Desert Island HS) who placed 56
th overall in the 170-runner field with a 6K time of 25:35. Munro was followed by senior
Isabella Palladino (Langhorne, PA / Homeschooled), who earned a 124
th-place mark of 30:49. Junior
Jordan Harvey (Chichester, PA / The Christian Academy) crossed next for Cairn in the 134
th slot with a time of 32:44, while classmate
Hannah Franchois (Fort Washington, PA / Phil-Mont Christian Academy) posted a mark of 35:42 to place 142
nd. Junior
Amanda Schlabach (Greenwood, DE / Greenwood Mennonite) clocked in at 35:56 to place 144
th, and sophomore
Amber Farrell (Philadelphia, PA / Franklin Towne Charter) earned a 148
th-place finish with a time of 37:02. Junior
Kaiya Smith (Souderton, PA / Souderton Area) rounded out the day for Cairn with a time of 38:49 to finish in 149
th place.
The men were paced by freshman
Titus Dingle (Catonsville, MD / Chapelgate Christian Academy) who earned a 94
th-place finish in the 176-runner field with a sub-30 8K time of 29:42. Dingle was followed closely by sophomore
Nicholas Palladino (Langhorne, PA / Homeschooled) with a time of 31:05 to finish in 115
th place. Junior
Isaiah Castellucci (Gloucester, MA / Landmark HS) placed next for Cairn, slotting in the 148
th position with a time of 34:23, while classmate
Joseph Keeports (York, PA / Central York HS) finished right behind in 152
nd place with a time of 35:20. Freshman
Adain Holliday (Manhattan, NY / Murry Bergtraum HS) rounded out the runners for Cairn with a time of 41:51.
The women's and men's cross country teams saw their successful campaigns come to a close on Saturday. The women's season was highlighted by a second-place finish at the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship meet, while the men earned a third-place finish in that same meet.
