LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Cairn University women's soccer team shutout Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) foe, Notre Dame of Maryland University at home on Saturday afternoon by a score of 4-0.
"We have a lot of momentum and we are just starting to hit our stride at the right time in our season." remarked Head Coach

"Our team is playing so well defensively and offensively, the transition between both is really on point right now. Our offense is clicking like it has not before and we are finishing chances even though we should have had more today. Overall, this was another solid victory and we are headed in the right direction. It is difficult to point out many mistakes today. Overall, a great outcome."
Cairn (8-4-1, 3-1 CSAC) got things started at the end of the 19
th minute with junior defender
Grace Miller (Chapel Hill, NC / Central Bucks West) putting the Highlanders up 1-0, assisted on a corner kick by junior midfielder
Teresa Lee (Jackson, NJ / Calvary Academy). The Highlanders continued to dominate the half with a goal from junior forward
Em Kuansongtham (Bangkok, Thailand / International Community School of Bangkok), also assisted by Lee in the 38
th minute. Lee contributed her own goal, netting Cairn's third tally of the half only six seconds later, assisted by senior forward
Emily Minard (Columbus, NJ / Life Center Academy). Cairn held the Gators of Notre Dame of Maryland (3-4, 2-2 CSAC) to a single shot in the half. The Highlanders got right back to work in the second half, Miller teamed up with Lee to put up her second goal of the match. Cairn held the Gators quiet for the remainder of the half and secured the victory 4-0.
Cairn held the advantage in shots (32-5) and shots on goal (20-2). Miller led the way in the scoring column with two goals on four shots.
Lee followed after with a goal and three assists. Kuansongtham contributed a goal as well. Sophomore goalkeeper
Isabelle Lazor (Midland Park, NJ / Eastern Christian HS) picked up two saves to keep the Gators off the scoreboard, her third shutout of the season.
The Highlanders will be on the road in Allentown, PA as they travel to Cedar Crest College on Wednesday night. The match kicks off at 6 p.m.
