BRISTOL, Pa. – The Cairn University women's soccer team suffered its first Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) loss of the 2021 season at home against Cedar Crest College by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday evening.
 
Cedar Crest (9-1-1, 4-1-0 CSAC) got on the board early after placing a through ball past the Cairn (7-5-1, 4-1-1 CSAC) back line to take a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute. The Falcons took that 1-0 lead into intermission. In the second half, the Highlanders nearly tied the game when sophomore Teresa Lee (Jackson, NJ / Calvary Academy) fired a shot on net from nearly 30 yards out in the 48^th minute, but Cedar Crest keeper Lauren Makely made the save the keep the Falcon lead intact. Cedar Crest collected an insurance goal in the 68^th minute off of a free kick that granted them a scoring chance that it capitalized on, giving them a 2-0 lead that ended up being the final score.
 
The Highlanders tallied three shots in the contest, all on net. Cairn freshman goalkeeper Isabelle Lazor (Midland Park, NJ / Eastern Christian) made three saves in a complete game effort.
 
The Highlanders will be back on the pitch on Saturday, October 16 when they welcome Centenary University (NJ) to town for their final non-conference bout of the season at Bucks County Community College. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
