MARYMOUNT, VA- The Highlanders emerged from hibernation over the weekend to open the season against the Marymount University Saints.

The Highlanders showed flashes, but were unable to defeat Marymount or the rust of winter and fell in all three games.
Tanner Keeley and
Jake Kraihanzel each showed promise as freshman starters with solid performances in the second and third games of the series.
Trey Valiton and Nate Wilson warmed up in game three as Valiton blasted a homer to CF and Wilson finished with 2 hits, while newcomers
Ryan Clark and
Quinton Pertkiewicz each contributed with doubles.

Cairn will travel to Delaware next weekend to take on Wesley College in a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
