LANGHORNE, PA – The sky was clear and the sun was bright Sunday afternoon as the Highlanders defeated the Stockton Ospreys for their second straight win.
Alejandro Fernandez and Josh Melchior tallied 3 hits each on the day leading the Highlanders 16 hit charge on offense.
Nat Ross took the hill for the Highlanders, cruising through the first three innings until an unfortunate blister took Ross out of the game.
Carson Conradt picked up where Ross left off, shutting down the Stockton offense, allowing 0 earned runs in his 5 innings pitched.
The Ospreys struck first in the top of the third when an errant throw brought two runs across, however, the Highlanders were quick to answer back.
Caleb Edman manufactured the Highlanders first run of the afternoon with a double, later scoring on a wild pitch.
Trailing 3-1, the Highlanders climbed back into the contest in the bottom of the 6th. A sacrifice fly from Brian Amantia scored
Brett Marks tying the game 3-3, before Melchoir singled in
Emilio Alvarez, giving the Highlanders a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
The Highlanders bats caught fire once more in the bottom of the 8
th when three singles and two doubles plated 4 insurance runs for the Highlanders heading into the last inning.
In the 9
th, the Ospreys strung together a couple hits, cutting the deficit to three runs, but
Eric Stinglen shut the door giving the Highlanders a 10-7 win. The Highlanders picked up their 6
