LANGHORNE, PA- The Highlanders hosted non-conference opponent Messiah College Wednesday night, dropping the match by a score of 3 sets to 0.
The first set started in excellent fashion as the Highlanders tallied the night's first 5 points. The Falcons came roaring back, but the Highlanders high-flying attack kept them on top for much of the set.
Scott Bassill and
Anton Deleon traded kills for Cairn, keeping the game level until two straight kills gave the Falcons a 25-22 win in the first set. Unfortunately for the Highlanders, Messiah found their groove over the next two sets.
Caleb Myers (5 kills), Bassill (7 kills), and Deleon (6 kills) led the Highlanders, but Cairn dropped the match 3 sets to 0.
Ryan Ludvik led Cairn with 8 digs and 19 assists, while Deleon finished with a .455 hitting percentage.
The Highlanders will take on Rutgers-Newark University at 7:00 PM tonight in search of their next CVC victory.
