BRYN ATHYN, PA- The Highlanders traveled to Bryn Athyn for their second matchup with the Lions of the 2018-2019 season. Cairn held on in another high-scoring affair, defeating Bryn Athyn 81-78 for the season sweep.
The Highlanders started off blazing hot from the field, knocking down 5 threes and controlling the interior with 32 first half points in the paint.
Brennan Addley and
Jeremiah Harris dominated offensively for the Highlanders in the first half as each shot 5-6 from the field. The Highlanders shot an incredible 66.7% from the field to take a 52-46 lead in the first half. Both teams buckled down defensively in the second half, however, the Lions Larry Stevenson III got hot from beyond the arc to give Bryn Athyn a seven point lead with 6 minutes remaining. With the Highlanders perfect CSAC record hanging in the balance, the Highlanders turned to their heart and soul
Julian Collazo to will them back into the contest. Collazo scored 6 straight and locked down Stevenson on the defensive end to get Cairn within one with 3:21 on the clock. Two free throws from
Jordan Koczman and two huge layups from
Malachi Hall officially turned the tide and put the Highlanders up by three. Stevenson knocked down another jumper for Bryn Athyn, but
Jeremiah Harris iced the game yet again with two clutch free throws and the Highlanders took their sixth straight victory and improved to 8-0 in the CSAC.
Julian Collazo flirted with a triple-double once more with 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists, and Harris notched 15 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and an eye-popping 6 steals to lead the Highlanders defensively.
The Highlanders will travel to take on longtime non-conference rival Lancaster Bible College Tuesday night before hosting Centenary University Saturday afternoon.
