LANGHORNE, PA- The Highlanders put their perfect CSAC record on the line against Keystone College Tuesday night- fortunately Cairn outlasted a comeback from the Giants and notched their seventh straight CSAC win and fifth straight overall.
Â
The Highlanders took control from the start, building up a quick seven point lead.
Brennan Addley scored seven straight and
Josh Decker showed his usual marksmanship from distance with four deep threes off the bench. Cairn stretched the lead as high as 19 in the first half and took a 14 point lead into the break. Keystone, known for playing at an incredibly fast pace, got hot in the second half and began to chip away at the Highlanders lead. A number of fast break layups later and the game was tied 78-78 with just 3:25 left on the clock. A huge steal and free throw from freshman
Jesse Rivera, as well as a layup by
Malachi Hall gave the Highlanders a 3 point lead with 1:13 left. Keystone's Ray Mills knocked down a floater, and the Giants had a chance to tie it quickly with a run out layup on the other end. The Highlanders
Jordan Koczman showed incredible hustle to contest at the other end, securing the rebound and leading to two free throws from
Jeremiah Harris to ice the game.
Â
Jordan Koczman led Cairn with 20 points and 4 blocks,
Malachi Hall tallied 18 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 5 steals, and Harris finished with 16 points. The Highlanders will travel to Bryn Athyn College this Saturday to take on the Lions at 3:00 PM.
