FREDERICK, MD- The Highlanders hit the road, traveling to Frederick, MD to take on Hood College on a rain-soaked Saturday afternoon.
After a big win against Goucher College earlier this week, the Highlanders were hoping to jumpstart a winning streak, but unfortunately their hopes were dashed by the Blazers in a competitive contest. Hood struck first in the 13
th minute, catching the Highlanders off guard with a very aggressive offensive start. In less than ideal conditions, both teams struggled to generate quality chances for much of the game, until the Highlanders
Brandon Hasko broke through, finishing a pass from
Joey Weaver in the 69
th minute. The next ten minutes passed without much fanfare, until Hood's Clay Smith found lightning a bottle by tallying two goals within a two minute stretch to give the Blazers a 3-1 lead. The Highlanders were unable to fight back, dropping the contest to fall to 1-2 on the year.
Cairn will host longtime rival Lancaster Bible College at 4:00 PM this Wednesday.
