PHOENIXVILLE, PA- The Highlanders got back to their winning ways in an out-of-conference matchup with the Patriots of Valley Forge.
The Highlanders started off quickly, tallying four shots in the first four minutes, before Tori Ruitto broke the deadlock in the 9
th minute with a shot that caromed off the post and into the back of the net. The Highlanders bombardment of the Patriot net continued, and Cairn broke through once more in the 24
th minute when
Katie Ruitto's corner found
Sara Hayduchok who coolly slotted the ball to freshman forward
Sarah Jackson. Jackson finished her second goal of the season with ease, and the Highlanders would take a 2-0 lead into the second half. The second half started nearly identically to the first, as
Lauren Costa, who threatened the goal the entire game with 6 shots, smashed the third goal of the game from nearly thirty yards out. With the game solidly in hand, senior
Laura Tarbert added an insurance goal in the 80
th minute to give Cairn a 4-0 lead, and their third win of the season.
The Highlanders will keep up their busy schedule and head to Baltimore on Sunday to take on the Notre Dame (MD) University Gators in their first CSAC match of the season.
