RADNOR, PA- The Highlanders traveled to former CSAC powerhouse Cabrini University for an out-of-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon. After 110 minutes of play, the score stood even and both teams were happy to walk away with a draw.
Â
After a tough loss earlier this week, the Highlanders afternoon started in less than stellar fashion, as Cabrini tallied the day's first goal a mere one minute and nineteen seconds into the contest. Despite giving up an early goal, the Highlanders were able to settle in defensively, engaging in an extremely physical half, but keeping the Cavaliers off the board over the remaining 43 minutes. The Highlanders ratcheted up the pressure on the offensive end in the second half, with
Brendan Keller and
Brett Kikendall pressuring all over the pitch, and freshman
Josiah Nistorenko pushing forward and doing his best
Paul Franco impersonation by winning headers time and again. Franco illustrated his dominance in the air once again in the 81
st minute. While Franco generally does his damage in the center of the pitch, the captain pushed forward and perfectly ran onto a Ty Smith free kick, flicking his header past Cabrini's outstretched keeper to tie the game 1-1 with time quickly running out. After a couple minutes of uneventful play, the game headed to OT, where the Highlanders continued to press forward, feeling victory within their grasp. Unfortunately, after two
Joey Weaver corners, the clock ran out and the match ended in a draw.

The Highlanders will get back on the road once again Monday night by traveling to Gwynedd Mercy to take on the Griffins.
